Superb quality camera equipment formerly made by a little known japanese manufacturer. Known especially for its outstanding high quality compact camera the Konica Hexar which was sold during the late 1990's and its recent Konica Hexar Rangefinder Camera System released in 2000 (received numerous awards like "Camera of the Year" in Europe etc.) which employs the Leica M-mount and which is a top-quality alternative or complement to the LEICA M system. The Hexar RF camera has similarities to the Leica M-7 but also adds a built-in winder, the Konica M lenses are outstanding optics which can compare to the Leica M optics. Essentially, we have the impression that Konica manufactured these cameras to show off their competence and ability to manufacture the very highest quality equipment. Invariably, the Hexar RF had a difficult task of making a name in a market dominated for decades by Leica. It therefore remained a niche product known only in enthusiast circles. In terms of price this system offers excellent value.
