DIGITAL PRO - Especially designed for Digital Cameras and Camcorders - perfectly matched highest grade optical filters and manufactured in chromium-coloured mounts. UV - this filters blocks the invisible ultraviolet rays which can cause reduced sharpness especially in places with very clear air like mountains or by the sea. In addition it also protects the front elements of your lens and can be left on the lens permanently. It is a neutral filter and has no effect on the colour spectrum. It is highly recommended to fit this filter type to every lens.

ND - Neutral Density Grey - these filters reduce the light reaching the electronic sensor by one and two stops F-stops (Models 101 = 1 stop, 102 = 2 stops, other types with higher f-stop numers available). This can be useful to achieve slower shutter speeds (see also Graduated Filters)

POLARISING - Circular Polarising filters are able to eliminate the polarised light, light reflected to varying degrees by every surface. This is ever-present and appears as a glare or fog and prevents the human eye and camera's optics from seeing the real colours in our environment. Most effective in nature and landscape photography; and especially to intensify colour saturation and contrast, eg. clouds will stand out against a darker blue sky. Reflections on water and glass can be eliminated to see the colours and objects below/behind the surface more clearly. Available with MRC coating and as Standard or Professional Käsemann versions (see our B+W Page).

CLOSE-UP LENSES - optical lenses which increase the close-up capabilities of any lens without any loss of image quality. These lenses are perfectly colour neutral and available in various strenghts from +1 Diopter to +5 Diopters. A special +10 Diopters Macrolens is also available - please enquire for prices. These lenses are coated.

SOFT-PRO - Softfocus filter based on the design of the famous CARL ZEISS SOFTAR types (see our CONTAX ACESSORIES Page). This filter does not reduce the sharpness of the image but lowers the contrast thereby retaining image quality. Tiny surface dimples spread across the clear glass filter surface produce a clear background image for precise focusing and high detail, while the dome-shape Mini-lenses overlay this with a superbly softened and diffused effect. This filter is ideal for Portraits with romantic highlights and dreamy Landscapes. Note: this filter is not a simple fog or diffuser-type filter but achieves its effect by optical diffusion which cannot be achieved by later computer manipulation
